Folks, there are vested interests on both sides of this argument. The industries aligned against piracy have surely overplayed their hand on copyright, have milked it for unjustified gains and have been slow in adapting to the digital universe. But a lot of the money they make goes to pay the advances or salaries for writers and directors and singers, so they can support themselves while they do their work. To pretend the price of a book or a movie is all gravy for some faceless, avaricious corporation is a convenient canard.
